David Tennant is featured on the cover of the new issue of Radio Times as they celebrate 20 years since the return of Doctor Who.

Speaking inside he says "When I signed on, the first series of the new version hadn’t even transmitted, I sort of signed up to be in a second series that nobody could really be certain would ever arrive.

"I could have appeared in a regeneration scene at the end of series 1, and that could have been it. I would have been not even the George Lazenby of Doctor Who; if I can make a slightly obscure Casino Royale reference, I’d have been the David Niven of Doctor Who!"

Radio Times is available in shops tomorrow and is also available on the app.

I have loved David ever since I saw him as the Doctor on April 4th 2010. The doctor was comforting an older woman on a double Decker bus. He gave me chills. I had not watched the new Doctor reboot. I love him as an actor, a person. He is just wonderful. 🥰
