📻🎭 If you’ve been gripped by the stormy drama of King Lear, don’t miss the final part airing today at 3pm on BBC Radio 4. The fallout begins, and the betrayals are about to come home to roost.
David Tennant returns as the dangerously ambitious Edmund, cool, calculating, and utterly compelling. It’s a darker turn than many are used to hearing from him, and he plays it with eerie ease.
Alongside him, Richard Wilson delivers a heartbreaking Lear, Greta Scacchi and Toby Jones bring power and pathos as Goneril and Gloucester, and the soundscape, led by cellist Steven Isserlis, is hauntingly beautiful.
If you missed last week’s episode, both parts will be available on BBC Sounds, so you can catch up in your own time.
Whether you’re tuning in live or listening later, it’s a powerful close to one of Shakespeare’s most brutal and beautiful tragedies.
